Stealth Snake: The Zoom Kobe 6 Camo
The Nike Zoom Kobe 6 is one the most successful modern basketball shoes in recent memory. Coming with a striking design and cutting edge technology, it is popular to both basketball players and collectors alike. This shoe is worn by Kobe “The Black Mamba” Bryant for the 2011 NBA season.
Just like Kobe’s other shoes since the Zoom Kobe 4 was released, the Kobe 6’s design is of the low-cut variety, a break in tradition among basketball shoes. However, some significant changes were made in order to improve in performance and make it stand out in the looks department. A low profile to the ground was achieved in this shoe by installing Zoom Air in the heel and forefoot. However, a significant difference that this iteration has with the previous Kobe shoes is the non-usage of Flywire material in the upper. It was replaced with a cast urethane outer shell paired with an inner dual density sock liner. This provides better foot stability while molding to the user’s feet.
A sculpted Phylon midsole and a molded external heel counter completes the parts of this shoe. In the looks department, Nike has left none to chance. A snake theme dominates the look, paying homage to Bryant’s nickname. “Snake scale” patterns are embedded all throughout the upper, and the outsole has a traction pattern that continues the snake scale look. And if this radical styling is not enough, in addition to the purple and yellow Lakers inspired colors, Nike is producing the Kobe 6 in various colorways that are striking in the eye to say the list. This includes the red/black all-star edition, the lime green Grinch edition, and the Zoom Kobe 6 Camo, a colorway adorned with a camouflage pattern.
The Zoom Kobe 6 Camo colorways is the next step on continuing the extreme looks of the shoe itself. There are 3 available styles of the Camo, the “Camo”, the “Photo Blue Camo”, and the “Italian Camo”. The “Camo” is predominantly black with shades of Dark Gray and Concord in a camouflage pattern. Blue and red accents complete the look. The “Photo Blue Camo” might just be the most radical looking of the Camo line. Predominantly colored in bright “Photo Blue”, it is further accentuated by black, other shades of blue, and even neon green. The last variant is the “Italian Camo”. Predominantly black, it is adorned with the sane camouflage pattern in olive green and khaki.
Plus, if these colorways are not good or extreme enough for you, you can customize your own Zoom Kobe 6 Camo using the Nike iD service. Limited to only 240 pairs, exclusivity comes with individuality if you are able to grab one of these.
